sifu dr mark green

Mark was introduced to the internal arts in 1991 by Andrew Sofos of Wing Chun Kung Fu. After several years of training he decided to widen his study, taking up Tai Chi Chuan, Chi Kung and meditation with a focus on the medical and philosophical aspects of the arts. Mark initially studied with Rahman Khabir who trained under many famous teachers including Jou Tsung Hwa, Yang Jwing-Ming and Mantak Chia. During that period Mark received his Ph.D from University College London for research on the pharmacology and physiology of pain. He pursued a scientific career for several years, published numerous papers and was invited to speak at a number of institutions including the Royal Society for Medicine. In 2001 Mark was awarded the title of Sifu and decided to leave research to teach the internal arts full-time. Mark is one of few instructors qualified in both Eastern and Western medical science, and able to explain the benefits of Tai Chi and oriental healing arts from both perspectives.

Mark currently studies Wing Chun Kung Fu with Andrew Sofos, Tai Chi Chuan with Zhuo Yang and Li Jing, Meditation with Kim Nataraja, and Sheng Zhen Wuji Yuan Gong with Li Jun Feng and Li Jing
